Tool · Rating Coach

Understand your ratings — and build them the smart way.

ACC rewards clean, calm driving. No pressure to be perfect — we take it one step at a time.

Good news for beginners: ACC's rating system is much gentler than iRacing's. Mistakes hurt less, and you build your rating mainly through mileage and calm — not through lap times. Worth knowing: the ratings matter less today than they used to — why, is in the "Where do people race in 2026?" tab.
What measures what?

Seven values, one goal: racing without stress. The most important one for getting started online is SA.

RatingWhat it measuresHow to raise it
SA onlineSafety Rating — cleanliness. Above all the value that public and community servers check as an entry requirement.lots of clean miles without contact or offs
TRTrack Competence — how well you know each track (per track).simply run laps on one track
CNConsistency — how even your lap times are.hit the same lap, not the fastest one
CCCar Control — car handling at the limit.gentle with throttle and steering, calm corrections
PCPace — your speed vs. a reference.comes later; clean first, then fast
RCRacecraft — wheel-to-wheel skill.only in real races; fight fair
CPCompetition — not an overall score. CP is earned exclusively in the official Competition Server races.stays at 0 if you never race there — that is normal
The most common misunderstanding: "my CP is 0, I must be doing something wrong". No — CP is the only one of the seven values you cannot build offline at all. It only counts results from the official Competition Server races. If you never race those, your CP stays at 0 permanently, and that is perfectly fine.
And the "Total Rating" above them

On top of the seven individual values (each 0–99), ACC also builds a Total Rating on a scale from 0 to 9999, which the familiar tiers are mapped to: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum.

We deliberately give no tier thresholds here. Kunos has never published either the formula or the thresholds. The numbers circulating in wikis and forums carry a note there themselves saying they are not validated. We would rather write nothing than write something made up.
Why is SA in particular so important?

SA is the value other people see and use as a filter. Many public and community servers set a minimum SA to join. The idea: someone who drives cleanly does not ruin other people's races. It is about cleanliness, not speed — a slow, clean driver builds SA just as well.

not official A particular minimum SA is often quoted ("around 80 or so"); Kunos has never published a threshold, and every server operator sets their own. Treat numbers as a rule of thumb.

But: for the big leagues on PC, SA is no longer the entry ticket it once was — see the "Where do people race in 2026?" tab.

The honest picture: where online racing actually happens

You will not find this in any older guide — and it changes what you should be working toward.

ACC has not received real updates for years. The last patch with gameplay and physics changes was v1.10.0 on April 1, 2024. Everything after that was content and small stuff: v1.10.3 (Aug 2024) brought liveries and wheel presets, v1.10.4 (Dec 22, 2025) only the 2025 GTWC season. Nothing has been released since. To be fair: Kunos has never officially declared ACC finished — the fact that Assetto Corsa EVO and AC Rally were released alongside it suggests as much, but that is our conclusion, not a statement from the developer.
The official Competition Servers have been running unreliably since the start of 2026. There are many reports of races that do not start properly. They are not "dead" — people still finish races there. But relying on them would be dishonest. That is exactly where CP is earned, which is why a CP of 0 is the rule today and not the exception.
Where people race instead
PlatformWhat it isWho it is for
LFM PCLow Fuel Motorsport — the de facto main platform for ACC racing. Free, its own splitting, its own race calendars.PC only (Steam), not on console
SimGridLeagues and one-off events, a lot of community organization.works on console too
PitSkillPitSkill.io — cross-platform rating and racing portal.alternative to LFM
The news that makes a lot of this easier: on January 9, 2026 LFM dropped its ACC license requirement. So you no longer need any particular ACC SA value to get started there. LFM runs its own Safety Rating, which starts at 2.50 and has nothing to do with your ACC SA. The only hurdle left: the Nordschleife still requires a separate track permit.
What that means in practice: grinding SA offline for weeks "to unlock ranked" is largely wasted time on PC today. Do the miles anyway — but because they make you better and because public servers check SA, not because a gate opens behind some number. On console SA is more relevant, because LFM is not available there.
Checked as of July 2026. Platforms change their rules — before you rely on a number, take a quick look at the platform's own site.
The offline route to a solid SA

SA rewards calm, not lap time. You do not have to race anyone — clean miles alone build it.

The principle

SA rises with clean distance: laps without contact and without going off track. Speed does not matter. Better to drive at 90% and clean than at 100% in the gravel.

Where to practice?

In Practice / Hotlap and calm sessions without pressure. No opponents means no unwanted contact.

Step by step
1
Pick one track — one that suits you (e.g. Barcelona, Monza). That way you build TR along the way.
2
Drive relaxed — about 90% pace. The goal is the clean lap, not the personal best.
3
All four wheels on track — no cutting, no excursions.
4
Collect miles — 20–30 min at a time, several times over. SA grows with mileage, not overnight.
5
Abandon the messy laps — after a spin, take a breath instead of chasing on in a rush.
Rule of thumb: clean beats fast. SA measures how much you can be trusted — not how fast you are.
Numbers like "around 80" are community rules of thumb, not official targets. And since LFM dropped its license requirement in January 2026, SA is no longer a door opener on PC anyway — see "Where do people race in 2026?".

Whenever you start: finishing beats placing. Pick a lower split, drive your own race — getting to the finish builds SA and confidence.
Diagnosis: losing SA

SA can drop — usually one of these causes is behind it. Each with a concrete fix.

Going off track (offs)

All four wheels outside the track counts as an off and pushes SA down.

Fix: take some speed out, use curbs carefully, brake earlier for the tricky corners.

Contact with other cars

Contact drags SA down — even when it is not your fault. The system often simply registers the contact.

Fix: keep your distance, leave room early, avoid risky moves.

Rejoining the track unsafely

Rejoining sideways or abruptly risks contact and SA loss.

Fix: look first, then merge back gently and parallel to the track. Never straight across the racing surface.

Cutting

Cutting the track counts as unclean.

Fix: stay inside the white lines, even when it costs a tenth.

Spins

A spin often ends in an off or contact — double the risk.

Fix: gentler with throttle and brake, especially on cold tyres.

Honestly: part of the SA you lose to contact caused by others feels unfair — and some of it is unavoidable. Over many clean miles it evens out.
A short etiquette guide for racing
Blue flag = the leaders are lapping you, let them through. Leave racing room. Do not rejoin straight across the track. And: be predictable, no abrupt line changes.
In short

The ACC rating system is noticeably gentler than the one in iRacing. There are seven values: SA (safety, cleanliness), TR (track competence), CN (consistency), CC (car control), PC (pace), RC (racecraft) and CP (competition). For getting started, SA is the most important — it is the value that public and community servers check as an entry requirement.

You build your Safety Rating mainly through clean kilometers — laps without contact and without going off track, with no opponents at all. Speed does not matter for it. To stay honest: Kunos has never published the exact internal formulas and thresholds, so any concrete numbers are community rules of thumb.

Common questions
How do I raise my Safety Rating (SA) in ACC?

Through clean kilometers: drive relaxed (about 90 % pace) in practice or hotlap sessions, no contact, never leave the track. SA rewards cleanliness, not lap time — a slow, clean driver builds it up just as well.

Why is my SA falling in ACC?

The most common causes: going off track (offs), contact with other cars (even contact that is not your fault often counts), rejoining unsafely, cutting the track and spins. Keeping your distance, leaving room and rejoining cleanly helps.

Why is my CP rating in ACC always 0?

Because CP is not an overall score made up of the other ratings, as is often assumed. The Competition Rating is earned exclusively in the official Competition server races. If you never race there, your CP stays at 0 permanently — that is normal, not a bug.

Do I need a certain ACC Safety Rating for Low Fuel Motorsport?

No, not any more. LFM dropped the ACC license requirement on 9 January 2026. LFM runs its own Safety Rating, which starts at 2.50 and is independent of your ACC SA. Only for the Nordschleife is there still a separate track permit. LFM is only available on PC, though; on console, platforms like SimGrid remain.

When am I ready for online races in ACC?

When you rarely spin, can string five clean laps together, know the track, understand the flag rules and have built your SA into double digits. Then start in a lower split — finishing is more important than your position.
